Wicked Widow Publishing

West Coast Witch Weaving Tales Since 1977

The Crimson & Fog Chronicle

Let’s be real: you don’t end up naming a company Wicked Widow Publishing because you love pastel colors and toxic positivity.

Wicked Widow was born out of a profound appreciation for chocolate flavored coffee, sandy beaches, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. We believe that stories should haunt you, and that the tools you use to write your own destiny should be just as atmospheric.

This space is the blueprint for an independent publishing house built entirely outside the mainstream. While establishing itself as the eventual home for original indie fiction titles, we create high-end, tactile stationery, planners, and notebooks. We cater to the literary souls, pop-culture junkies, and creative rebels who think regular stationery is entirely too cheerful. We don’t do boring, we don’t do bright, and we certainly don’t do basic. Welcome to the Inner Circle.

Meet the Coven

The Widow Witch of the West

Welcome. I’m Heidi Meinecke—a born-and-raised Californian, self-proclaimed book-bunny, and the mastermind behind this beautifully shadowed corner of the internet.

Wicked Widow Publishing didn’t start in a corporate boardroom; it started because my reading addiction outgrew my bookshelves and my brain refused to stop plotting things. If you want to see the sheer scale of the problem, you can track my current literary obsessions over at What the Heidi.

By day, I am a mother to two daughters who have inherited my exact brand of chaos. I spent years in the trenches as a homeschool mom, and because I apparently love a challenge, I am currently finishing my BA in Early Childhood Education Administration to become a charter school advisor. I’m also the voice and hands behind a handmade machine embroidery business and spend my “free time” writing and recording elective curriculum for high school homeschoolers (teaching them actual life skills, sewing, and how not to ruin a business before it starts).

I’ve loved reading and creative writing since back when you had to roll up a car window by hand. Wicked Widow started because I had a vision of a publishing space that didn’t cater to the mainstream. I wanted a brand that felt like a gothic library overlooking a foggy cliffside.

While I work on writing and eventually publishing my own books here, I wanted to create something tangible for the rest of the literary crowd. We are designing high-end, atmospheric journals and planners meant for people who still appreciate the tactile feel of putting pen to paper. Even better? My daughters are the artists behind the scenes, partnering with me to create the custom artwork for our merchandise.

Think of this as an invitation-only club for pop-culture junkies, avid readers, and creative souls who prefer the shadows. We don’t do boring here.

The Art Department

Behind every great empire is a reality check, and mine comes in the form of two fiercely talented creators who inherited my exact brand of creative chaos. They are the hands and minds partnering with me behind the scenes to bring custom artwork to our merchandise and stationery drops.

The Little Star

Named in honor of the brightest star in the bayou, she is an absolute powerhouse of imagination. A phenomenal visual artist and an incredibly creative storyteller in her own right, she has an innate ability to build whole universes out of nothing but a blank page and an idea. Her contribution to our design room ensures that everything we release has a touch of genuine magic and creative depth.

The Little Witch

Named after the iconic TV witch herself, this one has been rewriting the rules since day one. She was reading fluently before she even hit her third birthday, a brilliant feat that effectively launched our entire homeschooling journey. When she isn’t busy showcasing brilliant artistic talent, she spends her time testing the limits of typical mom-teen dynamics and keeping the headquarters thoroughly grounded. She brings a sharp, independent eye to the Wicked Widow aesthetic.
